For players under 1000

Booster to 1000

Under 1000, games are decided by three things: getting your pieces out without hanging them, not falling for the same five traps, and knowing what to do after move 10. These courses give you one setup as White and one as Black, every move explained, and a drill that makes you play each line from memory. Learn them fully and you will out-play almost everyone in your bracket.

Short lessons for your level

The Under-1000 lessons pair with these courses: the 10-second blunder check, checks-captures-threats, and the two mates you must know cold. All bands live in Lessons.

How to use this

  1. Start with the White course. Step through chapter 1 reading every note, then drill it from memory until you get zero mistakes.
  2. Play ten games with it. Just the setup — don't try to attack until you're castled and everything is out.
  3. Do the traps chapter. You will win material with Legal's mate within the week.
  4. Then the Black courses, same way — and the checkmate patterns and must-win endgames alongside them: beginners lose more won games than lost ones.
  5. Once all five are drilled clean, graduate to the plan cards and the weakness scan.
