The short version
Tabiya has no accounts. Everything it knows about you — your rating band, plan cards, drill results, scan reports, puzzle history and your chats with the AI coach — lives in storage on your own device. There are no ads and no advertising or cross-site trackers. The website counts visits with Vercel Web Analytics (below); the iOS app has no analytics.
Website visit statistics
To see which pages are used, the website runs Vercel Web Analytics. It sets no cookies and builds no profile of you. For each page view it records the page address, the referring site, browser, operating system, device type and an approximate location (country and region). Query strings are removed before sending, so payment references never reach it. Visitors are told apart only by a hash of the request that changes every day, and your IP address is not stored. We see totals, never individuals.
Game scans
When you run a scan, the app downloads your recent public games straight from Lichess or Chess.com using the username you type. Those games are analysed by the Stockfish engine running inside the app; nothing is uploaded anywhere for analysis.
Sync codes (optional)
If you create a sync code, a copy of your progress is stored on our server (a Neon Postgres database in the US) under that code so a second device can pull it. The code is the only key — we never see a name, email or password. Turn sync off on the Scan page to stop mirroring; email us with the code to have the server copy erased.
AI Coach (optional)
Messages you send to the coach, together with a short summary of your scan results, are sent to our server and forwarded to an AI model provider (Anthropic) to generate the reply. They are used only to produce that reply and are not kept after it is returned. Position and game analysis behind the coach runs on your device. To enforce the free daily allowance the server counts messages per day against a random install id and your network address; those counters hold no message content and are discarded after the day ends.
Coach Pro passes (website)
The iOS app is free and has no purchases. On the website, a Coach Pro pass is paid through Ziina; we store the payment reference, plan and expiry date to unlock and restore it. We never see or store your card details, name or email.
Card requests
Asking for a plan card that does not exist yet stores the opening name you requested, nothing else.
Deleting your data
Delete the app, or clear this site's data in your browser, and everything on the device is gone. For a sync code, email us the code and we erase the server copy within 7 days.
