Endgames a 900 must win
Under 1000 you will regularly be a queen or rook up and… stalemate them, or lose the pawn race by one tempo. Endgame skill at this level isn't Lucena studies — it's five concrete techniques that convert every won position and steal half points from lost ones. Each chapter is a complete method you drill from memory.
1. King + queen vs king: the knight's-move box
The method: the queen stays a KNIGHT'S MOVE away from the enemy king, never checking, and the box shrinks by itself. Then the king walks over and the queen mates. No checks until the end — checks let the king run.
